RTÜK Attends Saudi Media Forum
The Radio and Television Supreme Council of Türkiye (RTÜK) attended the Saudi Media Forum held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, between February 2nd and 4th. RTÜK delegation, consisting of Supreme Council Members Orhan Özdemir, İlhan Taşçı, and Necdet İpeküz, along with Supreme Council Expert Selahattin Başar Allıoğlu, attended the sessions held at the forum and met with the representatives of the industry.
The delegation held a meeting with Jacqueline Bierhorst, President of WorldDAB as well within the framework of the Forum. The meeting covered the topics such as the transition processes envisaged for digital terrestrial audio broadcasting (DAB/DAB+) in Türkiye, and the examples of implementation in different countries, mainly in Europe, technical infrastructure, regulatory compliance, and the roles assumed by public authorities. Additionaly, the opportunities offered by digital audio broadcasting in terms of broadcast quality, frequency efficiency, and public benefit were evaluated during the discussions.
As a part of the program, the RTÜK delegation visited the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Riyadh. In due course of the visit, the views were exchanged on the improvement of cultural relations between the two countries, current developments in the media and broadcasting fields, and the strengthening of international cooperation.
