Workshop organised in Budapest by RTÜK and Yunus Emre Institute (YEE) on “Media Literacy in the Digital Age and Turkish Language”
Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) and Yunus Emre Institute (YEE), organised a workshop in Budapest, the capital city of Hungary on the “Media Literacy in the Digital Age and Turkish Language”.
RTUK President Ebubekir SAHIN, YEE President Prof. Dr. Seref ATES, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to the Republic of Hungary Mr. Ahmet Akif OKTAY, Vice Minister from the Ministry of Family and Social Services Mrs. Kübra Güran Yiğitbaşı and the other invited guests many in number participated in the workshop held in YEE premise in Budapest. In his opening speech of the workshop RTÜK President Mr. Ebubekir SAHIN said that RTUK was the only institution responsible for the application of media literacy issue within Türkiye and the aim of the organisation of the workshop that would last two days would be to transfer information to the citizens living abroad and the Turkish speaking fellows of Türkiye about what points they needed to take care of while they were using digital media.
RTÜK President SAHIN added “Particularly because of the pandemic, our people has turned into a society who watches more and more and gives more importance to the accession of everything as remotely as possible. Therefore, we try to inform people and especially the parents about the ways of how to cope with difficulties in this area or how to evaluate and choose programmes for their children or about which measures they can take relating to the livestream of broadcasts in social media.
